Major Upgrade to Compound Beta and Pricing Update

Good news! After being battle-tested by 100k+ developers, Compound is now in general availability.

Alongside moving Compound to GA, we are releasing a new version that is our most capable system yet:

Significant quality improvements. See our evals, including ~25% accuracy bump and ~50% fewer mistakes
New advanced tooling, including the ability to control up to 10 web browsers in parallel
The ability to visit specific web pages for better answer grounding and more context
Integration with Wolfram Alpha’s mathematical and intelligence engines
New foundational models: Compound now leverages GPT-OSS-120B as the default answering model, in combination with Llama models
Other updates include Enhanced Markdown Rendering and version control

This version will become the default on October 1st, 2025. You can try it with your app before then by setting “Groq-Model-Version” header to “latest”. More about versioning here.

We’re excited about this major upgrade, making it easier than ever to integrate agentic AI to conduct research, execute code, or navigate the web – all via a single API call.

With the move to GA and increase in rate limits, we will also begin charging for built-in tool use on September 15th, 2025.
