Hi vv,
We have a lot of updates for you today!
TL;DR: Gemini 3 launched. 13 new embedding models are available. Multiple stealth models revealed. API keys can be expired. OpenRouter has a Python SDK. The OpenRouter Show goes live Friday!
Models Update:
Gemini 3: Google’s Gemini 3 Pro is a state-of-the-art model. It is built for:
- Reasoning with better depth & nuance
- Multimodal understanding (text, video, code)
- Powerful agentic and vibe-coding capabilities
You can explore and chat with it here.
Embedding: We have 13 new embedding models on the platform. Some are great for precision, and some are built for speed. Learn more about them here.
Stealth models revealed:
“Polaris Alpha” was an early version of OpenAI GPT-5.1 with reasoning disabled. The final GPT-5.1 is a fast, token-efficient model with adaptive reasoning and better coding capabilities. It is priced the same as GPT-5. Give it a try here. We have three additional models within the same family: GPT-5.1-Chat, GPT-5.1-Codex, and GPT-5.1-Codex-Mini.
Sherlock stealth models are also revealed as Grok 4.1 Fast! It allows you to enable or disable reasoning via a parameter. It's free till December 3, 2025.
Product Updates:
1. API Key Expiration: You can now create API keys that are active for a specific amount of time, and then they expire or stop working. Give it a try.
2. SDK Update: You might have seen that the OpenRouter TypeScript SDK was released a few days ago; now the Python SDK is released as
well. Both are currently in beta.
The OpenRouter Show: We've launched a new live broadcast show, available on X/Twitter and YouTube Live. We’ll discuss insights from OpenRouter, new models, providers, trends, and how customers are using inference. The next live episode will air on Friday, November 21st, 2025, at 1 PM ET.
See you on "The OpenRouter Show"!!!
Best,
OpenRouter Team
